Not all freelance proofreaders work from home. With a job that allows you to work anywhere in the world, many do exactly that. Some, like Knowadays graduate Wendy, are even proofreading at sea from time to time! We recently got in touch with Wendy to ask her about her new life as a freelance proofreader. Take a look at our catch up below.

Hi, Wendy! What were you doing when you came across the course?

My husband and I have been sailing around the world while working as a luxury yacht crew in the Caribbean.

What made you consider the Knowadays course?

I have always enjoyed writing about my life, work experiences, and yachting travels. As I start to head into retirement, this is an opportunity to keep doing freelance work that I enjoy.

How has life changed for you as a freelance proofreader?

I get to dictate my hours, which gives me time to see my granddaughters. I can also work in my home office, as well as continue proofreading at sea while I travel with my husband when he has to work away from home.

What is your day-to-day routine like now?

I look forward to each day and learning something new from the documents I edit and proofread.

How has your transition to working as a freelance proofreader with Proofed been?
